Abstract

Appliance owners often experience difficulty identifying the appropriate appliance repair service and finding qualified technicians, particularly when technician skills, service categories, and appliance sub-types are not clearly verified. This study proposes Applifix, a mobile appliance repair booking application designed for customers and service professionals in Angeles City, Pampanga. The application integrates vision-language classification to identify appliance categories and sub-types using submitted appliance photos and problem descriptions, while allowing users to manually select from candidate sub-types when classification confidence is below the specified threshold. It also incorporates skills-based technician verification and a multi-criteria technician ranking mechanism using the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP), considering skill match, proximity, customer rating, and completion rate. The study will employ a quantitative approach and a descriptive-developmental research design to guide the development and evaluation of the proposed application. The system will facilitate the service process from job request and technician selection to confirmed completion, while maintaining relevant service and work records. The expected outcome is a mobile platform that improves appliance identification, supports the selection of qualified technicians, and provides a more organized and transparent appliance repair booking process for customers and technicians in Angeles City.
