Abstract

Nowadays, people always lose personal belongings such as mobile phones, wallets, IDs,
and other items. This is a common issue due to forgetfulness; these incidents often happen to both
students and school employees. This study aims to develop Hanapbalik, a lost-and-found locationbased mobile application with smart matching and verified claiming for Systems Plus College
Foundation. The study addresses the difficulties in searching, recovering and managing lost items
within the school campus. The research design that will be employed for this study is the
descriptive-developmental using a quantitative approach for gathering and analyzing data from the
students and employees of the school. The proposed mobile application will have features such as
location-based searching, AI-assisted item description, smart matching, and a verified claiming
that will be managed by the OSA. These features will help to make the process of lost and found
easier, efficient and will ensure that the items will return to its rightful owner. This application is
supported by two OS, including Android and IOS that will utilize Flutter and Dart. The study
intends to provide a more secure, accessible and organized way in managing lost and found in
Systems Plus College Foundation. The results and findings of the study may be used as a basis in
improving the efficiency of lost-and-found in the school community.
